Whats the typical MICE Itinerary Lifecycle

A typical MICE product sale involves the following activities and would go to weeks before the client decides on the event.

  • Interest received from Corporate for a MICE event
  • Corporate gives the tentative requirement with a specific budget and the number of people expected along with the number of days
  • Travel company has to consult on the destination, different activities that can be done
  • Corporate comes back with their comments and changes which might include change in destination and activities, This revision might go for weeks depending on the each corporate requirement
  • Once Corporate finalises the itinerary they require a quote to be given which would be per person
  • The whole MICE event can have hundreds of sub items which includes local flights from multiple cities to a central location, flight ticket to destination, hotels, Transfers, Sightseeings, conferences, factory visits etc.
  • Travel company might have different suppliers supplying the above products
  • Travel company then communicates via email, chat etc to each individual suppliers for their individual price
  • Travel company may send to multiple suppliers for the same product
  • Travel company receives quote from multiple places and depending on destination might receive in multiple currency
  • Travel company then does analysis based on the quote received and then decides which one to take for the pricing
  • Travel company then communicate the per person rate to the corporate
  • Corporate might come back with some changes at this point in time based on the budget that they have and the quote that they have received
  • Travel company would have to go back and change the itinerary and repeat the communication process
